Kosher Certification in Turkey: Process and Agencies
October 1, 2026
Food Contact Materials (FCM) Compliance and Testing
October 1, 2026Vegan certification shows that a product contains no ingredients of animal origin and that animals were not harmed or used for testing in its production. The vegan mark on the packaging lets consumers recognise such products at a glance, and gives retailers and importers a document they can rely on. Its role is similar to that of a halal or kosher certificate: it proves that the product meets the expectations of a specific group of consumers.
For vegan certification, apply to CE Danışmanı (CE Consultant); we manage the whole process for you.
Who issues the vegan mark?
Vegan certificates are issued by independent certification organisations, each with its own mark and criteria. Internationally known examples are:
- The Vegan Society, with its Vegan Trademark
- Vegan Action, based in the United States, with the Certified Vegan logo
- The Vegetarian Society, with its vegan approved mark
Certification bodies in Turkey also offer vegan and vegetarian certification. The right choice depends on where the product will be sold, because consumers and retail chains in each market recognise different marks.

What the certifier checks
- Ingredients: no animal-derived ingredient, additive or processing aid
- Supply chain: where each material comes from and what the supplier declares about it
- Animal testing: neither the product nor its ingredients are tested on animals on behalf of the manufacturer
- Production: equipment, infrastructure and procedures, including how contact with non-vegan products on shared lines is prevented
How the process works
- Application. The manufacturer fills in an application form with detailed information on the production process, the materials used and the supply chain.
- Document review. The certification organisation evaluates the application and the ingredient information.
- Audit. The certification body may visit the production site to check raw materials, equipment, infrastructure and procedures against the vegan criteria.
- Approval. After a successful assessment the company receives the right to use the vegan logo on the certified products.
Documents to prepare
| Document | What it must show |
|---|---|
| Product ingredient list | Every ingredient of the product in detail, confirming that none is of animal origin |
| Supply chain information | Suppliers of the materials and components, with confirmation that no animal products are used and no animal testing is carried out |
| Production process and procedures | How the product is made and how the vegan criteria are kept throughout production |
How long does it take?
The process generally takes 2 to 10 weeks. The duration depends mainly on how quickly the ingredient and supplier documents are completed. Missing supplier declarations are the most common cause of delay, which is why preparing the file before the application saves time.
Where the mark is used
The vegan mark is placed on the packaging or label of the certified product. It applies to the products listed in the certificate, not to the company as a whole. If the formula or a supplier changes, the certifier has to be informed.
Vegan, halal and kosher
Vegan products often qualify for other certificates as well, because they contain no meat, milk or animal-derived additives. The audits are still separate. If you sell to several markets, the certificates can be planned together: see halal certification and kosher certification.
